1982 Class of MidNorth High School was in some respects one of the most outstanding classes in the history of the school.

Among the members of that class was a highly recruited football player, a future movie star, state-ranked cross-country runner, a student who had a chance for perfect attendance. There were also members of the in crowd, the cool kids, the shy wall-flowers and one student who left school during the middle of the school, and valedictorian who didn’t show up on graduation day.

Most of the class went on to success, but many left the MidNorth High School with some unanswered questions.

The 20th anniversary of the class will be at a Melrose Chamber of Commerce dinner theatre Feb. 10 and 11 at the American Legion. There will be the meetings old friends, and seeing for the first time in two decades people they have not seen since before graduation.

Of course the various questions concerning some of the class will again brought up.

Why did Ilexia Howard, daughter of the principal, a straight A and very popular student, suddenly leave school. Why did the school’s best hope for a cross-country championship leave the team. What caused the valedictorian skip the graduation ceremony. Was the wrong person was named top of the class? What caused the top football player to lose his scholarship?

Many believed that Principal Howard has something to do with each of those answers, but he never did provide any answers – and left the class with its biggest mystery. Which one of them killed Principal Howard?

It is an answer only those attending the 20th reunion can find out.
