REMINDER: May General Membership Meeting Thursday May 15 at noon at Rondezvous Grille
We have 55 days before the Melrose Riverfest celebration begins. We are currently working on logistics, advertising and little details. I often tell people who wonder what goes into putting on a celebration, that they take for granted when they come to a celebration that there will be a chair to sit on. No one thinks of who ordered it, made sure it was delivered, and set it up-just for them to sit on, not to mention who cleaned it and put it away. And that is just for one chair! The Melrose Riverfest Committee has been working very hard to assure that this years celebration is a success. Please do your part to assist in this city wide celebration by volunteering to work a shift in the beer garden, advertise in the promotional newspaper, sell duck raffle tickets, buy presale wristbands for the inflatable games or tell everyone you know about it! It takes all of us to make this a success. Our next Melrose Riverfest meeting is Tuesday May 20 at El Portal. Melrose Farm/City Crazy Days- July 18th As we let out a sigh of exhaustion that Melrose Riverfest will be over, we will be gearing up for Melrose Farm/City Crazy Days on July 18. We will once again be having the kids pedal tractor pull in the morning (sponsored by Central MN Federal Credit Union and Ernie's Family Foods). Followed by the petting zoo and the turkey plate lunch and agricultural displays. We are asking businesses who have retail, to put bargains out on the street. We are asking businesses who are not retail to either have games for people to play or host an employee garage sale. We will also advertise to have a second city wide garage sale that weekend. Please let the chamber know if you have any questions. 2008 Home Health and Family Expo Recap April 5th was the date of the Melrose Home Health and Family Expo this year. We had 43 booths, many with new a fresh ideas for our attendees. The U of M Raptor center was a successful draw, as we have heard many great comments about their presentation. Thank you for all those who participated and we look forward to next year. 2008 Membership List As of May 12, 2008
