Alyssa, Sponsored by Yoga MelroseAlyssa Hoeschen is the daughter of Russel and Amy Hoeschen. She is 19 years old and enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, eating ice cream, camping, spending time at the lake, and adventuring with friends. While in high school Alyssa participated in National Honor Society, yearbook, musical, synchronized swimming, choir, and she managed the girls swim team. She loved working with the sync team to create an amazing show that was fun for the audience to watch and fun to participate in. During Alyssa’s senior year on the sync team she was also nominated as a captain. Alyssa was in Girl Scouts for eleven years and completed her Bronze and Silver Awards. She also likes to volunteer at her church in her free time where she helps with the first communion retreat, teaching religion classes, and helping with vacation bible school during the summer. Alyssa is currently employed at Melrose Area Schools as a para-sub and swimming lessons instructor. She also works at the early childhood center (ECC) in Freeport. Alyssa is currently a Junior at Winona State University majoring in Elementary Education with a minor in Reading Instruction. Her future goals consist of receiving her degree in teaching and to come back home and teach in a second grade classroom.

Gracie, Sponsored by Econ-O-WashGracie Schad is the daughter of Teresa and Patrick Schad. She is 17 years old, and is a Senior at Melrose High School. Gracie enjoys singing, babysitting, playing with her dog, Lewie, getting coffee with Kimi Klassen, watching Marvel movies, reading Twilight novels, and randomly singing show tunes. For the past ten years, Gracie has participated in the Spring, Summer, and Fall musicals here in Melrose. In the last five years, she has participated on the Speech team, and for the past two seasons, has been a captain. This season, she finished 3rd place at state in the category of dramatic interpretation. In middle school, she also performed on the dance team. This past year, she was inducted into the National Honor Society. Gracie is a proud member of the Youth Chorale of Central Minnesota, where she performs as a Chamber singer. She is employed at the Dutchmen Explorer’s Club, and loves interacting with elementary students. Her future plans include attending the University of Minnesota Duluth where she will study Elementary Education and Musical Theatre.

Madi, Sponsored by Neighborhood RealtyMadi Stusse-Birch is the daughter of Jeff and Lynn Birch. Madi moved to Melrose in 7th grade and has been playing basketball and volleyball here ever since. She enjoys singing, and playing any instrument she can get her hands on including flute clarinet percussion piano and guitar. She showcases her talents by playing piano or guitar along with singing at church and youth group every week. She also loves playing sports. She is the second youngest of 7 siblings and has an adorable niece and nephew. She has also been in NHS for one year. She has been on the varsity basketball team since tenth grade and has been on varsity volleyball since this last season. She finds joy and comfort in her two dogs, Jake and Midnight, along with listening and singing to any kind of music anytime and ANYWHERE. Madi plans on having a career in mechanical engineering.
